FreQuently asked questions
Q. When is the best time to water?
A. It is always best to water early in the morning. This allows the water to seep down to the roots before the sun gets hot promoting strong roots. Watering midday wastes water due to evaporation losses. Watering in the evening puts your lawn at risk for disease and fungus.
Q. How often should I water?
A. This depends on many factors such as plant and soil type. But in general, you want to water for longer times, but less frequent watering sessions. This promotes deep watering and healthy roots. Every 2-3 days is typical.
Q. Am I saving money with an automatic sprinkler system?
A. 100% yes. A professionally designed system is efficient because it evenly distributes the right amount of water only to where it is needed. Waste water from over spray from hand held sprinklers is practically eliminated. There is no more forgetting to turn off the hose. And your wireless rain sensor will prevent watering when it rains.
Q. My rain sensor is not working. Why?
A. Chances are your rain sensor is just fine. There is usually a bypass switch on your timer or your rain sensor panel next to the timer. It is probably in bypass mode. Make sure it is activated. If you are still having a problem we would be more than happy to come diagnose and repair the problem.
Q. How much will a new system cost?
A. This depends on many factors such as the size of the area to be watered, the number of zones, and type of zones (lawn zones, shrub zones, drip zones, etc.). We would be glad to provide you with a free estimate.
Remember it is not all about price. If one price you get is much lower than the others, it is probably for a reason. Compare estimates. Know exactly what you are getting in return. Some contractors cut corners. The price may be right but the system is probably poorly designed. This will cost you money in the long run.
